Things To Do
Ingleton is perfectly situated close to a variety of fantastic attractions. To make sure you get the most out of your Yorkshire getaway we have put together this short guide of things to see and do in the local area. Ingleton Town
Ingleton is a small yorkshire town with a rich, diverse history, from mining, railways to textiles. Jam packed with attractions, artisian food and drink and beautiful scenary it is a true Yorkshire gem.
Ingleton Falls
The famous Ingleton Waterfall Trail is not one to be missed! The 8km long walk is said to have some of the most spectacular waterfall and woodland scenery in the whole of England. The trail is open all year but times vary so be sure to check their website before you head over.
Kirkby Lonsdale
The historic village of Kirkby Lonsdale can be found nestled between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, and better still it is only a 14 minute drive from Ingleton. Packed full of local shops, inns and restaurants there is plenty to see and do!
White Scar Caves
Ingleton is home to White Scar Caves, the longest show caves in the whole of Britain. The caves are a mile in length and a full tour can take up to 80 minutes to fully explore everything they have to offer. First discovered in 1923, the caves are a must-see tourist attraction. The site is home to a cafe and shop.
Wenslydale Cheese Factory
Located a short drive away in the village of Hawes, the Wenslydale Creamery visitor centre is the perfect day out to satisfy your cheese cravings. On site expect a delicious menu championing their award-winning, artisan cheese and fantastic local produce for you to enjoy in their garden, where you can soak up the stunning panoramic views of Wensleydale.
Yorkshire Three Peaks
The Yorkshire three peaks challenge is a stunning 24 mile walk, with a total of 5200ft climbed it is no easy feat. However, if you decide to tackle this hike you will be rewarded with some of the most stunning mountain views in the whole of the UK! The three peaks include Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough (usually done in that order) and usually takes about 12 hours to complete.
The Lake District
The world famous Lake District is only a short drive from Ingleton. The stunning lakes are a must see, full to the brim with walks, climbing, cycling, villages and more.
Yorkshire Dales
The Yorkshire Dales has many moods; it can be wild and windswept or quietly tranquil with valleys full of hay meadows, drystone walls and barns. There’s always something to do in the Dales. Whether you’re going for the day or staying longer.
